Our Experience

Steve Sierleja, a Certified Green Professional (CGP), first began custom homebuilding in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1973. He moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2003 and formed Custom Homes LTD. With over 300 custom homes under his belt, Steve set out to offer the San Antonio market something different in the way of custom homebuilding.

With quality as his mantra, Steve’s passion is building. He has always believed in the importance of communication, providing the client with the facts as well as giving them realistic expectations from the beginning. When you build with Custom Homes LTD, Steve is the field supervisor. Steve does not use superintendents. He feels that he can better maintain the quality of your home by personally overseeing every phase of the construction.

In recognition of quality, unique design and quality construction, Custom Homes LTD received the 2006 Award of Excellence from the National Association of Home Builders.

Custom Homes LTD can build with steel and wood studs as well, and still achieve a high performance home. Steve is also a Master Distributor of BuildBlock Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs), which is an affordable beginning to an energy efficient home. Custom Homes LTD offers you not only alternative building materials for the envelope of the home, we offer many custom options: rain water collection, gray water collection, solar power, dual flush toilets, sustainable flooring, low VOC paints and glues, geothermal, net metering homes, driveable grass walks and driveways, motion sensing interior lights, bio based spray foam insulation, blue jean insulation, recycled wood floors or any other products you may desire.

We use various building techniques to ensure quality in your new energy saving custom home. These techniques include, but are not limited to, the following: Medically/Clinically Sensitive Building Solutions, Aging in Place (universal design), ICF,s (Insulated Concrete Forms), SIP’s (Structural Insulated Panels). Your new custom home will meet or exceed all Energy Star requirements. We also build partially or fully ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant homes. Custom Homes LTD is VA Approved.

Custom Homes LTD will use your plan or assist you in designing your dream home, with the aid of our architect or designer. When you need help in choosing all of the components that comprise your custom home, our interior designer will guide you in this process. Custom Homes LTD will build on your own lot or assist you in finding just the right parcel of land to build your new custom home. We currently build in, but are not limited to, the following San Antonio and Texas Hill Country communities: Mystic Shores, Lantana Ridge, River Chase, Havenwood, Fox Hill and Windmill Ranch.
